What have you told your child/children about Christmas?

Christmas is celebrated differently around the world, in the British culture it is the time of year when you exchange presents with family and friends, it's about santa claus, rudolph and the reindeer, snowman, elves, eating and drinking together with family.

On seeing how so many people are rushing to buy gifts and too much food, this has challenged me to the core since i am Jesus's follower. I get this question around this time of year, "have you done all your Christmas shopping?"

As a Christian parent I feel my children need to know the truth about Christmas, that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ, i do so in a fun way that children can understand, over the years we have got to the nitty gritty about what the true meaning of Christmas is.
As a matter of fact we celebrate Jesus everyday in our house by talking about Jesus Christ to our children in a creative way. I like to focus on the moral of the story when talking about Jesus, I like to make sure my children know who Jesus really is- WHY THE KING JESUS WAS BORN, HOW HE CAME, LIVED AND IS COMING BACK!!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son to die for our sins that who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. We teach our children that God has given us his best (Jesus) and that this reflects the love that has been poured out generously to us.

thank you for this message!! we must enlighten our kids on the truth about this celebration and not fall for the sugar-coated practices the evil one might try to entice us into
